It could happen...

The year's best comedy, The Hangover, is a strong contender for an Oscar nomination in next year's expanded-t0-10-slots Best Picture race.

I can't see it happening. If they want to go the commercial route they have more suitable choices (by their standards, at least) such as Up, Inglorious Basterds and Avatar.

No doubt the Globes will bite, but that is where it shall end for The Hangover. I'm so confident that I would hand myself over as your slave if it ends up on the list of 10.

Slave you say? Intriguing...

I think you might be right. If they want a commercial comedy to nominate, they'd probably go for more "serious" actor fare like Julie and Julia or the other Meryl-rific movie It's Complicated which I'm seeing tomorrow!!

Yes...although perhaps they will see Inglorious Basterds fitting that role after its surprise box-office? I can't imagine they'll want a full-blown woman's film when it seems Nine, An Education and Precious will be nominated.

Do let me know how the film is! I'm quite excited, also half frightened...hoping it's not The Holiday 2!
